Not everyone owns a gun or can buy poisons and other chemical repellents. They are expensive and they are consumable that you might be killing one pigeon for 1 dollar each. Not a good trade. The best way to combat feral pigeon infestation is to invest in a very good and durable pigeon trap. Buying your equipment is easy and cheap if you inspect the main points in picking traps.
1. Material – Ordinary iron may be cheaper than stainless steel but remember the pigeon droppings contain uric acid and iron may rust faster than stainless steel making you buy another trap.
2. Size – How many pigeons do you plan to catch per load? Some traps can house 10 to 15 pigeons before they are culled
3. Function – Last but not the least, how does the trap work? Some elaborate traps which are expensive have loads of springs and gears that creak scaring other birds. A funnel shaped trap is cheaper and works just as well. Pigeons go in but they don’t go out.
